Overview#
Financing in TradesWork shows "as low as $X/month" on estimate options and lets your team start financing applications from the job. Direct lender connections are partner pending: today, applications are assisted. The customer gets a link to apply, or your office helps them apply on the lender's own portal, and your office records the lender's decision in TradesWork. Nothing is ever approved by TradesWork.
Before you start#
Settings: Owner or Admin.
Starting an application: anyone who sells (Technicians on their own jobs, Dispatchers, CSRs, Accounting, Owners, Admins).
Recording lender decisions: Dispatchers, CSRs, Accounting, Owners and Admins.
An approved dealer account with at least one lender (for example GreenSky, Synchrony, Service Finance, Wells Fargo or Wisetack), your lender's plan list (term, APR, dealer fee) and your dealer apply link. Approval with a lender usually takes a few days.
Steps#
1. Turn financing on#
Open Settings › Integrations › Financing.
In Financing, tick Offer financing (plans show on options and the One Link offers to apply).
Tick Show "as low as $X/mo" on every option to show the lowest monthly payment among plans marked "show on options" that fit each option's total.
Under Lender order (waterfall), pick First lender… and up to three Then… lenders. When a lender declines, the application moves to the next lender that has an active plan.
Press Save.
2. Add your plans#
In Financing plans, fill in Add a plan:
Name (for example GreenSky 9.99% 60 months), Lender.
Type: Fixed APR, 0% APR, equal payments, or Same as cash (deferred interest).
Term (months), APR %, Promo months (same as cash only), Dealer fee % (what the lender charges you; customers never see it).
Minimum $ and Maximum $ (the job sizes the plan covers), Lender plan code, Sort.
Disclosure shown to customers (copy your lender's required wording).
Tick Show on options and Active.
Press Add plan. The table shows an example monthly payment on $10,000. Press Edit to change a plan, then Save plan.
3. Start an application from a job#
Open the job and go to its Financing card.
Press Start an application, then Start application. The customer gets a link to apply; lenders without a connection become an office task.
When the lender decides, press Record the lender's decision and enter it from the lender's portal. A decline moves to the next lender in your waterfall.
Extended warranty plans (optional)#
In Extended warranty plans, add plans offered as optional add-ons on estimate options, using the provider's own pricing. Sold plans are handed to the office to register with the provider when there's no connection.
Settings that change this#
Settings › Integrations › Financing: plans, waterfall, prescreen and warranty plans.
Estimate options show the monthly price only when financing is on and a plan fits the option's total.
Tips#
Add one plan per lender promotion you actually offer. Too many plans confuse customers.
Set Minimum $ and Maximum $ to your lender's limits so customers never see a plan they can't get.
Prescreen existing customers before visits needs a connected lender that offers prescreening. None is connected yet, so it stays off.
Troubleshooting#
The monthly price looks wrong → term, APR or promo months are off. → Check the plan; same-as-cash plans need Promo months filled in.
"No plan fits this amount" on a job → the option total is outside every plan's minimum and maximum. → Adjust the plan range or add a plan.
"Financing is off" on a job → Offer financing is unticked. → An Owner or Admin turns it on.
The plan shows "Out of range" for the $10,000 example → that's just the example amount; the plan is fine for jobs in its range.
FAQ#
Can TradesWork submit the application to the lender for me? Not yet. Lender partnerships are pending. Send your apply link from the job and record the decision; nothing is faked.
Do customers see my dealer fee? No. It's used to show you what the lender charges you on the amount.
Does financing affect how I get paid? Lenders pay you directly under your dealer agreement. Record the payment on the invoice when it arrives.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
ServiceTitan's Financing settings connect lenders like GoodLeap for in-app applications. In TradesWork, add the same plans manually and use the assisted flow until direct lender connections ship. Open applications don't move from ServiceTitan; finish them in the lender's portal.
