Overview#
Hands-free mode is a big push-to-talk button for gloved hands. What you say is turned into text by the speech-to-text service and run as one command through the app's normal actions. Answers and steps are read aloud. Typing a command works too.
Before you start#
Voice needs speech-to-text configured on the server (and AI on). Without it, type commands.
Settings › AI › AI assists › Hands-free mode must be on. Asking questions needs the job assistant.
Steps#
Tap Hands-free in AI assists. Pick the unit for readings and choose Read answers aloud.
Tap Tap and speak, say a command, tap Done speaking. Or type it and tap Go.
Commands (English or Spanish): "Start driving", "I'm here", "Note: …", "Superheat 12", "Amps 18.5", "Timer 5 minutes", "Ask: …", "Read the steps", "Next", "Repeat", "Stop", "Help".
"I'm done" takes you back to the appointment to wrap up with Finish appointment; it never finishes the visit itself.
Settings that change this#
Settings › AI › AI assists › Hands-free mode.
Tips#
Status changes and notes go through the offline queue like taps do.
Troubleshooting#
"Didn't catch that" → say "help" for examples, or type it.
No Tap and speak button → speech-to-text isn't connected; type commands.
FAQ#
Q: Is there a wake word? Not yet: it's push to talk. "Hey TradesWork" at the start is accepted but not required.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
No equivalent.
