Overview#
Your company profile is what customers see on invoices and texts: your name and main phone. It also sets your time zone, default sales tax, invoice terms and working hours. The working hours aren't just for show: they become the default schedule for technicians who don't have their own hours, and online booking uses them to offer arrival windows.
Before you start#
You need the Owner or Admin role.
Have your sales tax rate ready. Ask your accountant if you charge different rates in different places (see Tips).
Steps#
Open Settings › Your Account › Company Profile & Business Hours. (Or open Settings and press Edit on the Company card.)
Under Profile, fill in:
Company name: the name customers see.
Main phone: the number printed on invoices and messages.
Time zone: all schedules, reminders and reports use it.
Sales tax (%): applied to taxable lines. Up to 20%, two decimals.
Invoice terms (days): when invoices are due. 0 means due on receipt; 30 means Net 30.
Under Working days, tick the days your team works.
Set Opens and Closes: your normal working hours.
Press Save profile.
Settings that change this#
Settings › People › Technicians: a technician's own weekly hours and time off override the company hours.
Settings › Communications › Web Appointments: the windows customers can book, inside your hours.
Settings › Phones › Phone Numbers, Call Recording & Texting: phone ringing has its own business hours per weekday.
Settings › Operations › Branches: each branch can have its own hours, phones and tax.
Tips#
Set the time zone before you book anything. Appointments are stored at real times; a wrong time zone makes every window look off.
If you work in several tax areas, set your most common rate here and use branches for the others. Tax-exempt customers can have a certificate on file.
Phone business hours (who gets rung) are set separately on the phone settings page, so you can answer phones longer than you dispatch.
Troubleshooting#
"Closing time must be after opening time" → Closes is earlier than Opens. → Fix the times. Overnight hours aren't supported here.
"Pick at least one working day" → no days are ticked. → Tick your working days.
Online booking shows no windows → the hours or technician schedules leave no free time. → Check these hours, Technician Availability and the minimum notice in booking settings.
Invoices show the wrong due date → invoice terms. → Change Invoice terms (days). Already-sent invoices keep their date.
FAQ#
Does changing the tax rate change old invoices? No. Invoices that already exist keep the tax they were built with.
Where do I put my logo and brand colors for customer pages? In Settings › Marketing › Customer Portal & Reputation.
Can technicians see this page? No. Only Owners and Admins.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
In ServiceTitan this lives under Settings › Your Account › Company Profile, with business hours and tax zones on separate screens. TradesWork keeps the profile and the default hours on one page. Multiple tax zones aren't modelled in one company yet; use branches if you need different rates.
