Overview#
Listen mode is a beta. It records 15 seconds and measures loudness patterns on the phone: sharp bangs, starting and stopping, rhythmic wobble, and (in the web app only) pitch. Those point to possibilities such as water hammer, short-cycling, an imbalanced blower or a bearing whine, with the checks to run. It is not a diagnosis and no AI model listens to the audio. The recording is deleted; only the numbers are sent.
Before you start#
Microphone permission. Settings › AI › AI assists › Listen mode (beta) must be on.
Steps#
Tap Listen in AI assists and pick the unit.
Hold the phone near the noise and tap Start listening. It stops after 15 seconds (or tap Stop).
Read What it heard and Check next. Save to job notes if useful.
Settings that change this#
Settings › AI › AI assists › Listen mode (beta).
Tips#
On iPhone and Android, pitch isn't measured yet, so whines and buzzes can't be told apart; the result says so.
Troubleshooting#
"Too quiet" → move closer (not touching moving parts). "Too short" → record the full 15 seconds.
FAQ#
Q: Is the audio uploaded? No.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
