Overview#
Lead sources is a gallery with one card per place your leads come from: Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, Yelp, The Home Depot, Google Local Services, Facebook Lead Ads, Networx/Porch/Modernize, your website, any lead email, Zapier/Make and TradesForce. Each card shows its status (Connected, Waiting for first lead or Not connected), when the last lead arrived and how many came this month. Connect opens a guided panel with the fastest way to connect that source today, plus Send a test lead to prove it works. Every lead lands in Leads with its source and a campaign for that source, so reports show which site pays off.
Before you start#
You need the Owner or Admin role. Other roles don't see this page.
An admin login for each lead site, and access to the mailbox that receives their lead emails (Gmail, Outlook…).
Webhook secrets and the TradesForce key are shown once. Have the other site open before you create one.
Email paths need lead email switched on for your account. If a panel says forwarding isn't switched on, use a webhook path or contact support.
Steps#
Open Settings › Lead sources. The line under the title counts connected, waiting and not connected sources.
Press Connect (or Manage) on a card. The guided panel opens at the top of the page.
Follow the panel for that source:
Angi and HomeAdvisor#
Under Fastest today: forward lead emails, copy your tagged address (it ends in +angi@… or +homeadvisor@…). If you see Create my … forwarding address, press it first.
Add the address as a lead notification email in your Angi account if it offers one, or forward Angi's emails with the Gmail filter or Outlook rule shown in Forwarding from your mailbox.
For instant delivery with phone numbers, use Instant delivery with phone numbers: Angi webhook: press Create webhook secret, copy the URL and secret, find your Angi ID, and send the prefilled email (Copy email) to Angi's CRM integrations team. Angi connects it, usually within a few business days. Keep forwarding until the first webhook lead arrives; duplicates merge.
Thumbtack#
Press Create webhook secret, then copy the URL with the secret built in.
Open Thumbtack's webhooks page from the link in the panel, create a webhook for Leads events and paste the URL. If Thumbtack asks for authentication, choose basic auth with any username and the secret as the password.
Or forward Thumbtack's lead emails with the address under Or: forward lead emails.
Yelp, The Home Depot, Google Local Services, Networx, Porch, Modernize, any lead email#
Copy the tagged address. Networx, Porch and Modernize each get their own tag so leads get the right source.
Follow Send … lead emails to it (where that site's notification settings are) and Forwarding from your mailbox (Gmail filter or Outlook rule with the right senders).
Gmail sends a confirmation code to the address; it appears in the panel within a minute. Copy it into Gmail and press Verify.
Facebook Lead Ads#
Press Create webhook secret and copy the URL and secret.
In Zapier, use the trigger Facebook Lead Ads › New Lead and the action Webhooks by Zapier › POST with the header shown, and set source to facebook. In Make, use Watch New Leads and HTTP › Make a request. Field mapping lists every field.
Your website#
Press Create my website form if you see it.
Copy the snippet under step 1 (Copy snippet) and paste it where the form should appear (WordPress: a Custom HTML block; Wix or Squarespace: an Embed block).
If your site doesn't allow scripts, use Copy iframe instead (ad attribution then needs the script).
Developers or form builders can post JSON to a webhook instead: Or: post your own form to a webhook shows the URL, secret and an example body.
Add the online booking widget from Settings › Online booking if you want customers to pick a time themselves.
Zapier / Make#
Press Create webhook secret. Add a POST step in Zapier or Make with the URL, the Authorization: Bearer header and the fields in Field mapping.
TradesForce#
Press Create TradesForce key. Copy the key (shown once).
Paste the MCP URL and the key into TradesForce's TradesWork connection. Other MCP clients can use the config shown.
The card turns Connected after TradesForce's first call or lead and shows Last call.
Send a test lead and check#
In the panel press Send a test lead. A fictional customer goes through the real pipeline (your tagged address and that site's email template, the webhook, the form, or MCP).
The banner says how it arrived, for example "arrived as Angi, read by the Angi email template". Open it shows the test lead.
Test leads are archived on arrival: they never appear in the inbox, are never texted and never count in metrics or "leads this month".
The card turns Connected when the first real lead arrives.
Settings that change this#
Settings › Lead sources › All connections and secrets: New secret, New address or New key to replace a leaked one; Turn off / Turn on to pause a connection.
Settings › Text agent: which sources the AI text agent answers, and its hours.
Settings › AI: when AI is on, lead emails in unknown layouts are read automatically; when it's off they arrive flagged "Read without AI: check the details".
Settings › Email: the same lead address and Gmail confirmation codes.
Tips#
Use one forwarding rule per site, each to its own tagged address. The tag keeps the source right even when a forwarded email no longer shows who sent it.
Each source gets a campaign automatically (for example "Angi", channel Lead marketplace; "Google Local Services", channel Local Services Ads). Jobs booked from a lead keep that campaign.
Website form leads with a Google click id (gclid) are attributed to Google Ads, with a Meta click id (fbclid) to Meta ads, and a utm_campaign becomes the campaign name.
The inbox shows Speed to lead by source for the last 30 days, and the source chips filter the list.
Troubleshooting#
A card stays on "Waiting for first lead" → no real lead has arrived from that source yet. → Check the forwarding rule or webhook in the other site, then press Send a test lead. For Gmail, confirm the forwarding address first.
The test lead arrived as "Lead email" instead of the site → the email didn't match a known layout and wasn't sent to a tagged address. → Forward to the tagged address shown in the panel.
A lead shows "Read without AI: check the details" → the email's layout wasn't recognized and AI is off. → Check the lead's details, or turn on AI in Settings › AI.
I lost a secret → secrets are shown once and stored scrambled. → Press New secret and paste it into the other site. The old one stops working at once.
The website form says "Too many requests" → one visitor sent more than 5 requests in an hour (spam protection). → They can call you or try again later.
Leads arrive twice → the same lead came by email and webhook. → They merge by phone and email within 14 days; turn one route off if you prefer.
FAQ#
Is there a direct Yelp, Google or Facebook connection? Not yet. Yelp's Leads API is only for Yelp reseller partners, Google's lead data needs an approved Google Ads API token, and Meta's lead webhooks need an approved Meta app. The panel's Partner path box shows the status. Email forwarding (Yelp, Google) and Zapier/Make (Facebook) work today.
Does a test lead text anyone? No. Test leads use fictional customers, are archived on arrival and are never texted.
What do the statuses mean? Connected: a real lead has arrived (TradesForce: it has called). Waiting for first lead: you set it up but no real lead has come yet. Not connected: nothing set up.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
ServiceTitan calls these Booking Providers (Settings › Integrations). In TradesWork they're Lead sources, and every source lands in one Leads inbox with a campaign per source. When you switch, ask Angi to send to your TradesWork webhook instead of ServiceTitan's, point Thumbtack's webhook at TradesWork, and move your email forwarding rules to your TradesWork address.
