Overview#
In the Field app, My truck shows what's on the technician's own truck, with min and max, low and negative flags. Technicians scan or search parts, build a restock request for the warehouse, and submit blind counts. Materials they invoice come out of the truck automatically; sold options can be marked used with one tap.
Before you start#
Needs inventory.truck (Technicians; Owners and Admins too).
The office must set up the truck and link it to the technician (Purchasing › Inventory › Setup).
A technician only ever sees and changes their own truck.
Steps#
See your truck#
On the Today screen, tap My truck.
Search with Search name, code or barcode, or tap Scan and point the camera at the part's barcode or shelf label.
Rows show "min X / max Y" with Low and Check (negative) badges.
Request a restock#
Tap an item (it's added with enough to reach max), or after a lookup tap Add to restock request.
Adjust quantities in Restock request with − and +.
Tap Send to warehouse. It becomes a transfer request for the office to pull and load. Without signal it's saved and sent later.
Your requests show as "Restock TR-…" with Requested, Completed or Canceled.
Count your truck#
Tap Count. It's a blind count: the system number is hidden.
Enter quantities or Scan to count, then Submit count ({n}). The office reviews it before stock changes.
Materials used on a job#
Materials you add to an invoice come out of your truck automatically.
Under the invoice, "Not taken from stock yet: …" lists sold-option materials. Tap Used from {truck} to deduct them.
Settings that change this#
Purchasing › Inventory › Setup: the truck, its technician, template and restock warehouse.
Tips#
Scan instead of searching; it's faster and avoids picking the wrong part.
Send restock requests at the end of the day so the warehouse can load you in the morning.
Troubleshooting#
"No truck set up for you yet" → ask the office to add your truck in Inventory.
"There's no warehouse to restock from yet. Ask the office."
"No item with that barcode. Ask the office to add it in Inventory setup."
"Not on your truck. Look it up when you have signal." → you're offline.
Camera won't scan → allow camera access for TradesWork Field in your phone's Settings, or type the code.
FAQ#
Can I move parts to another tech's truck? No. The office moves stock between trucks.
Can I see other trucks? No, only your own.
Coming from ServiceTitan#
Same: technicians see truck stock and parts used come off the truck.
Different: blind counts, barcode scanning with the phone camera, and restock requests that become warehouse transfers.
Where it lived: ServiceTitan Mobile truck inventory; My truck in the TradesWork Field app.
