Overview#

You can bring your Jobber data into TradesWork from Jobber's CSV exports: clients, properties (service locations), job history, invoices with balances, and products & services. TradesWork reads the files you export; it never logs in to Jobber. Switch on the Jobber-style look so menus say Clients, Requests, Quotes, Jobs and Invoices, and appointments are called visits.

Before you start#

  • In TradesWork you need the Owner or Admin role.

  • A Jobber login that can export.

  • A computer. Files can be CSV, Excel or a ZIP, up to 50 MB per drop.

Steps#

  1. Open Settings › Tools › Import / Export Data and press Jobber in the row of source buttons. The page becomes Switch from Jobber.

  2. Follow Exporting from Jobber on the right. Menu names can differ by plan and version:

    1. Clients: Clients › More actions › Export clients (CSV). Property addresses are included, so there's no separate properties export.

    2. Jobs: Insights › Reports › One-off jobs and Recurring jobs (and Visits) › Export.

    3. Invoices and payments: Insights › Reports › Transactions list › Receive Excel copy. For balances: Client balance summary › Email CSV.

    4. Products & services: Settings › Products & Services › Export to CSV.

  3. Drag the files onto Drop your Jobber exports here: a ZIP is fine, or press Choose files.

  4. Check What we found, and answer This file is a… for anything not recognized. See Fix import problems: column mapping, re-drops and duplicates.

  5. Look at Preview: your data in TradesWork.

  6. Choose Import into your company or Try it in a separate sandbox company first, then press Import.

  7. When it finishes, open your customers and price book, and download any rows that couldn't be imported with Download as CSV.

Settings that change this#

  • Settings › Your Account › Appearance: choose Familiar to Jobber users.

  • Settings › Integrations › Payment Processing: connect Stripe for card and bank payments.

  • Settings › Communications › Web Appointments: replace Jobber's request form on your website with TradesWork online booking.

Tips#

  • Set the report date range to all time for jobs and transactions to keep your history.

  • Re-dropping newer exports updates records instead of duplicating them.

Troubleshooting#

  • Properties don't link to clients → the properties file lacks a client id, or two clients share a name. → Keep the client id column and drop clients and properties together.

  • A file shows "Not recognized" → choose its type under This file is a… and map the columns.

  • Invoice balances look off → partially paid invoices import with their paid amount. → Check the source file's paid and balance columns.

FAQ#

Do quotes come across? Not yet; quotes stay in Jobber for now.

What about recurring jobs? Jobber has no membership records to export. Recurring jobs come across as job history; set up memberships or recurring visits in TradesWork afterwards.

Is there equipment to import? Jobber doesn't keep equipment records. Add equipment in TradesWork as technicians visit.

Coming from ServiceTitan#

Not coming from ServiceTitan? TradesWork uses ServiceTitan's words by default (Customer, Location, Estimate, Appointment). The Jobber-style look shows Client, Property, Quote and Visit instead; the data is the same.
