Overview#

There are two ways a customer approves an option. On site, the technician opens a customer-facing presentation in the Field app: big cards side by side on a tablet (swipe cards on a phone) with photos, monthly payments, rebates and optional add-ons, then the customer signs on the screen. Remotely, the customer opens their One Link, reviews the same options and approves by typing their name. Either way the option is sold and billed on the job.

Before you start#

  • Presenting needs the Field app and estimates.write on the job (the assigned technician, or a dispatcher, admin or owner).

  • Options must be open (not sold or dismissed).

  • Monthly prices appear only when financing is on and Show "as low as $X/mo" on every option is ticked in Settings › Integrations › Financing, with at least one plan marked to show on options.

Steps#

Present on site (Field app)#

  1. On the appointment (or the Sales view visit), after building options, tap Present to {customer} / Present.

  2. On the hand-over screen pick the Customer's language and tap Start presentation. The screen locks to the presentation: only you can leave it (hold the lock 1.5 seconds, then Face ID, Touch ID or the passcode). See Present mode.

  3. Your home today (when the visit has findings) shows what you found and the equipment's age before any price.

  4. Options: each card shows the picture, the price ("As low as $X/mo" and Or pay $total when financing is on), What's included, add-ons, rebates and proof. The recommended option shows Recommended for your home with your reason; Most popular shows only from your company's real sales.

  5. Compare lines the options up row by row. No costs or job numbers show anywhere.

  6. The customer taps Choose {option}, signs, chooses On this visit or Schedule it for later, and taps Approve and sign. Without signal, the approval saves on the device and reaches the office later.

  1. Share the job's One Link (Messages › Text link or Copy link).

  2. The customer sees "Pick the option that works for you", each option with rebates, savings, documents and or $X/mo*.

  3. They tick any Optional add-ons, type Your full name, tick "I approve this work…" and tap Approve {option name}.

  4. They see "Thanks! Your approval was recorded." The office sees the option as sold, approved by that name.

What happens after approval#

  • The chosen option becomes Sold; the other open options in the proposal are dismissed.

  • Ticked add-ons become lines on the option.

  • With Today, on this visit (and always on the One Link), the lines go on this job's invoice. With Schedule for later, a new follow-up job is created and the lines go on its invoice.

  • The estimate follow-up board moves the card to Won and follow-up texts stop.

Settings that change this#

  • Settings › Integrations › Financing: Offer financing, Show "as low as $X/mo" on every option, and each plan's Show on options and Disclosure shown to customers.

  • Pricebook › Proposal Templates › Suggested add-ons: add-on suggestions technicians see while building.

Tips#

  • Present on a tablet when you can. Side-by-side cards make the comparison easy.

  • Set a recommended option. It's highlighted on every screen.

  • Monthly payments are estimates. The fine print says financing is subject to credit approval by the lender.

Troubleshooting#

  • "No open options to present" → every option was approved or dismissed → build a new estimate to present again.

  • No monthly price on the cards → financing is off, the show-monthly setting is off, or no plan fits the total → check Settings › Integrations › Financing.

  • Customer sees "Type your full name to approve" → the name is missing or too short.

  • Customer sees "This option was dismissed." → the office dismissed it → create a new estimate and resend the link.

  • "We couldn't record your approval. Try again, or call us." → a temporary problem → ask them to try again or record it in the office with Mark sold.

FAQ#

Is there a presentation mode in the office browser? No. Present from the Field app, or send the One Link.

Does the One Link let the customer pick "later"? No. One Link approvals always add the work to the current job. The office can switch it to a later job afterwards.

Is a drawn signature captured on the One Link? No. The customer types their name and ticks "Typing my name counts as my signature." On site, they draw a signature.

Coming from ServiceTitan#

  • Same: technicians present good/better/best options on a tablet and capture a signature.

  • Different: monthly payments and customer-selectable add-ons are built into the cards. Remote approval happens on the same One Link the customer already has.

  • Where it lived: ServiceTitan Mobile's present and sign flow; the Field app's Present to {customer} in TradesWork.
